A long-sheet size of *housho •ò‘ paper. Approx 53 X 72 cm. The largest sheet of paper used for a *ukiyo-e •‚¢ŠG print. A full sheet (see *ooooban ‘åX”») was used for *uki-e •‚ŠG (perspective prints). A horizontally cut sheet was used for habahiro hashira-e •L’ŒŠG (wide pillar print, see *hashira-e ’ŒŠG) painted in the *beni-e gŠG and benizuri-e g ŠG styles since 1730s, as well as for hashira-e (pillar prints), and for full-color woodblock prints, *nishiki-e ‹ÑŠG after 1764. A vertically cut, 1/3 sheet of takenaga bousho was called chouoooban ’·‘å”» (see *chouban ’·”») and used in beni-e.
