Also called wakiku 脇区. The borders on the ends of the pendants (*gatou 瓦当) attached to broad concave eave end tiles (*noki hiragawara 軒平瓦). These ends may contain a continuation of a bead pattern, *shumon 珠文, a zigzag or saw tooth pattern, *kyoshimon 鋸歯文, or it may be plain.
