1 A trapezoid.

2 Also called *tsuiji 築地. The shape at the ends of a roofed, wooden framed, mud-filled fence tsuijibei 築地塀. The posts of the fence incline inward kaigatabashira 貝形柱 from the base to the upper part, giving it a trapezoidal form. The upper beams are called katageta 肩桁. A similar shape can be seen in a *hakamagoshi 袴腰 style belfry *shourou 鐘楼.
