door-top called *katouguchi

給仕口 of the tearoom, Shoukintei 松琴亭 at Katsura Rikyuu 桂離宮 in Kyoto.
2 The flared, skirt-like, lower portion of a belfry *shourou 鐘楼. This type of belfry structural element appeared in the late Heian period and became common there after.
