Gekkouden 月光殿

A guest hall at Gokokuji 護国寺, in Tokyo. It is a large single storied structure of 7 x 6 bays, and has a hip-and gable roof *irimoya-zukuri 入母屋造, with entrances on the gable ends. The front eave *noki 軒, has an undulating gable *karahafu 唐破風, and the central entrance is 1x1 bay with a gabled roof *kirizuma yane 切妻屋根, covered with pantile roofing *sangawarabuki 桟瓦葺. Designated as an important cultural property. It originally belonged to the temple of Onjouji Nikkou-in 園城寺日光院, Momoyama period.
