ijou koubai　居定勾配

Also abbreviated to ijou 居定. The degree of pitch on the underside of a rafter support *kioi 木負 and an eave support *kayaoi 茅負. Because rafters have a concave curve or sag on their upper surfaces, the incline on the underside of the rafter and eave supports is gentler than the curve of the rafters.
