Lit. wing corridors. A corridor that extends outward from the side or rear of a building. Examples: Byoudouin 平等院 *Hououdou 鳳凰堂(1053), a Phenix Hall that has wing corridors on both sides, and is therefore called ryouyokurou 両翼廊, at Uji, in Kyoto. Moutsuuji 毛越寺 (12)c. in Iwate prefecture had a wing corrior, but is not longer extant.
