A single corridor that is 182cm wide, commonly found in temples. Some shrines have double corridors *fukurou •‘˜L, that are 264cm wide double the width of single corridors. But no extant temples have double corridors. The outer part of a single corridor in a temple, for example, the corridor at Houryuuji Sai-in –@—²Ž›Ό‰@, in Nara, is semi-enclosed and has a partial wall from the floor to about half the full height of the corridor. Above this are pillars *hashira ’Œ, with set openings filled with vertically placed, nearly square slats. These windows are called *renjimado ˜AŽq‘‹. The inner side is open and is supported by roof pillars only, set at regular intervals.
