| Also urappo δ. A thatching material used on vernacular dwellings *minka ―Ζ, particularly in the Aizu οΓ area of Fukushima prefecture. Uragaya refers to the top part of the miscanthus plant *kaya , after the plant has been harvested, dried, and cut in two to be used as thatch. The bottom half, which is also used in thatching, is called kirigaya Ψ or motogaya ³. | ||||||
