| Lit.'body light'. The light believed to be emitted from the body of Buddha. Expressed on Buddha and Bodhisattva figures in the form of a halo *kouhai 光背, behind the body. Always combined with a head halo *zukou 頭光, to form a *kyoshinkou 挙身光 'whole body halo'. | ||||||
