| Lit. three leaves. A decorative pattern carved into the shape of three leaves; used particularly for metal fittings found on the gable pendant, *gegyo 懸魚, suspended from the bargeboard, *hafu 破風, of a gable, *tsuma 妻. Used from the Momoyama period (late 16c) onward. | ||||||
