One story of a building or a counter for the number of roofs on a pagoda *tou 塔. A multi-storied structure is called juusou 重層, while a single storied structure is called tansou 単層. *Juu 重 is also a synonym for s and is a more common usage today in traditional architecture. For example, a 5-storied pagoda is generally called *gojuu-no-tou 五重の塔.
