Lit. scattered hail stones. A method of paving *tama-ishijiki ‹ΚΞ•~, in which various sizes of round stones *tama-ishi ‹ΚΞ, are inbedded in the ground and joined together using different types of joints. It is favored in garden paths of *souan ‘ˆΑ style gardens and in *roji ˜I’n or tea gardens. There are four different types of ararekoboshi paving: ookobore ‘ε—λ‚κ, kokobore ¬—λ‚κ, *ashiwake ˆ―•ͺ‚―, and chidoriashi η’Ή‘«.
