AISF 15th Anniversary Publication “We Global Citizens: Easily Crossing National Borders”

Notes on New Publication: "We Global Citizens: Easily Crossing National Borders", Junko Imanishi (ed.)

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Atsumi Foundation and the 10th anniversary of SGRA, a book was published, compiling the SGRA essays that have been published in the last 5 years. The book could be bought at the Yaesu Book Center. (Copies will be sent to the supporting and special members of SGRA)

This is a collection of essays by non-Japanese and scholarship recipients under the common theme of "global citizens". It scoops out the present situation and problems of the world and Japan, as well as that of the respective countries of the contributors. A volume that brings us closer to world events through topics ranging from the serious to the mundane

A compilation of published essays by former and current scholarship recipients on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Atsumi International Scholarship Foundation and the 10th anniversary of the Sekiguchi Global Research Association (SGRA). Although, this is not simply a memorial publication, as could be gleaned from the foreword of the United Nations former Under Secretary General Yasushi Akashi.

“I found the collection of essays deeply interesting and a pleasure to read. The scholarship recipients from abroad spoke about their observations of Japan and the Japanese from a free and lively perspective, about their reactions to Japanese culture and society, and about Asia and the world."

With a web-based search result of 1,500,000 hits, “global citizen” should be a title that could convey the global situation to the reader
