Also called a watariyaguramon “n˜E–ε or just *watariyagura “n˜E. A two story, timber frame gatehouse constructed in the barbican gatehouse complex, masugatamon –‘Œ`–ε, of a castle. A *kouraimon ‚—ν–ε is constructed in front of the enclosed box-shaped court. The next gate, the two-story yaguramon is constructed to the right of the first gate at a 90Kangle. The second story of this gate house links the right and left yaguradai ˜E‘δ that run along the top of the stone walls on either side of the entrance, and has a connecting gallery for castle guards. The first story is flanked by stone walls and typically serves as a three-bay entry gate.
