uchimuro-zukuri　内室造

An interior with an exposed roof structure exposed; an interior with no ceiling uchimuro 内室. It is thought that the word "uchimuro" is derived from "utsumuro" 空室 meaning an empty room. Shishinden 紫宸殿, Seiryouden 清涼殿, temple and shrine buildings, before the end of the 10c, were of this type. Uchimuro kouryou 内室虹梁 is a rainbow beam used in the exposed underside of the roof.
