An interior with an exposed roof structure exposed; an interior with no ceiling uchimuro “àŽº. It is thought that the word "uchimuro" is derived from "utsumuro" ‹óŽº meaning an empty room. Shishinden Ž‡›‚“a, Seiryouden ´—Á“a, temple and shrine buildings, before the end of the 10c, were of this type. Uchimuro kouryou “àŽº“ø—À is a rainbow beam used in the exposed underside of the roof.
