Struts, munazuka “‘©, are placed upon the lower ridge to support the true ridge, *munagi “–Ψ and to receive the diagonal roof framing members, *gasshou ‡Ά. The tenbinbari are joined to posts by means of tenons (*hozo ‚Ω‚Ό) and secured by cotter pins (komisen žπ and hanasen •@π).
