Lit. main gable pendant. Also written ŽåŒœ‹›, ogamigegyo ”qŒœ‹›. A decorative gable pendant *gegyo Œœ‹› which covers the ridgepiece at the crest of the roof gable. This expression is used in contrast to *kudarigegyo ~Œœ‹›, a gable pendant placed over the ends of purlins to the right and left below the bargeboard. A small gable will have only the omogegyo, a larger gable will have the central omogegyo and kudarigegyo on both sides.
