Also called hizumi 歪 meaning incline or slant. A slight twist inward at the top of a bargeboard or a tilting forward of the entire bargeboard, also called hafu-no-hizumi 破風の歪. The slant of an undulating bargeboard *karahafu 唐破風 occurring between the inclination of the eaves support *kayaoi 茅負 and a perpendicular line created by a carpenter's square *kanejaku 曲尺. The pitch between the plumb line and the eaves' support is halved, and the result becomes the basis for the inclination of the bargeboard.
