| A strip of paper encircling the outside cover
*hyoushi 表紙 of a book,
on which the title and sometimes other publishing information is printed.
A *daisen 題簽, or title
strip. Harigedai refers specifically to the picture title strips
on books of *ukiyo-e
浮世絵. The title strips had the book name, author's name and number of volumes
of the set of books. The daisen might also have a picture. In cases where
there were two title strips, one would contain the writing and the other
