IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to the 6th Asia Future Conference being postponed by a year, the evaluation of abstracts and Best Papers will be held twice leading up to 2022.

The evaluation of abstracts submitted between May 1, 2020 and September 20, 2020 (AFC #6A) are ongoing and the selection result of AFC#6 Scholarship will be announced on January 20, 2021 and the selection result of AFC#6 Best Papers on June 10, 2021. Do note that in order to receive the AFC #6A scholarship your full paper must be submitted by March 31, 2021.

The 20 papers selected as the AFC #6A Best Papers will be presented online for the pre-conference on August 26, 2021, as well as published in the edited volume “Toward the Future of Asia: My Proposal Vol. 6A.” Recipients of the AFC #6A scholarship and Best Paper awards will be invited to the conference to be held in 2022, and all registration and accommodation fees will be covered.

The information below pertains to submissions (general, scholarship, Best Papers) after September 21, 2020 (AFC #6B).

Scholarships and Best Paper Awards (AFC#6B)
The Asia Future Conference is pleased to announce that we have the following awards, scholarships, and special subsidies available to foster your participation in our conference.

A: Best Paper Awards

– The Best Paper Awards will be given to 20 papers selected by the AFC Academic Committee from the full papers submitted before March 31, 2022. Abstracts of these papers must be submitted before August 31, 2021 and accepted.
– An award certificate, souvenir, and $300 prize will be given to the author or a representative of the author group, and registration and accommodation (shared room) fees will be subsidized. If the author or representative of the author group has paid the registration and accommodation fees before the announcement, they will be refunded at the conference venue.
– Best Papers will be included in the edited volume “Toward the Future of Asia: My Proposal Vol.6” to be published after the Conference.
– Oral presentation of the paper and attendance during the Awards and Closing Ceremony is required for Best Paper awardees.
– Papers that have already been published are not eligible. If your paper is already published, please indicate it in the abstract and paper.
– Those who have been awarded AFC Best Paper Awards in the past are not eligible.

> Best Paper Selection Policies
Submitted full papers will be evaluated based on the following 5 criteria. Points will be deducted if a paper does not follow the Paper Format Guide.
1. Does this paper contribute to the AFC? Is the theme of this paper in accordance with the AFC#6 theme “Building a Future Asia: Solving Problems, Together”?
2. Is this paper perspicuous and persuasive?
3. Is this paper original and innovative?
4. Does this paper hold international aspects in some points?
5. Does this paper have an interdisciplinary approach?

B: Best Presentation

– The Best Presentation Awards will be given to one presenter from each general session, based on the recommendations by session chairs.
– There will be no Best Presentation Awards in the sessions arranged by groups of presenters.
– An award certificate and souvenir will be given to the Best Presentation.

C: AFC Scholarship

– The AFC scholarship waives both registration and accommodation fees (shared room) and will be available on an application basis for 50 selected promising researchers.
– Those who want to apply for this scholarship must submit an abstract for a full paper before August 31, 2021. The scholarship announcement and application form will be issued to authors together with the acceptance notice. The AFC Academic Committee will send the selection results to all applicants by January 20, 2022.
– The scholarship grant of selected researcher/s who fail to submit full papers on or before March 31, 2022 will be automatically cancelled.
– Short papers are not eligible for this scholarship.
– Published papers are not eligible. If your paper has already been published, please indicate it in the abstract and paper.

D: AFC Special Subsidy

(For scholars from Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar)
– Thanks to designated donations, AFC Special Subsidies are available for presenters who lives in the above 5 countries and is affiliated to universities and institutions  in the same country. The AFC Special Subsidies are given to 10 scholars each from Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam, and 5 scholars each from Thailand and Myanmar.
– The AFC Special Subsidy will waive both registration and accommodation fees (shared room) and the recipients will receive $300 in cash at the conference venue to partially cover travel costs.
– Those who have been awarded the AFC Special Subsidy in the past are not eligible.
– The recipient of the AFC Special Subsidy will not be awarded an AFC Scholarship.
– The application and selection process for the AFC Special Subsidy are different from the AFC Scholarship. The announcement for the AFC Special Subsidy can be found at the following link:

E: Raccoon Scholarship and Raccoon Session Subsidies (for former Atsumi Scholarship Recipients)

– Raccoon scholarships are available for the members of the Raccoon Association and will be announced separately.

奨学金と優秀賞（AFC#6B）

アジア未来会議では、多くの方々に参加していただくために、下記の通り、優秀賞、奨学金、特別補助金を提供します。

A: 優秀論文賞

– 2022年3月31日までに投稿された論文を対象に、20篇の優秀論文がAFC学術委員会によって選出されます。論文投稿の前提として、その発表要旨を2021年8月31日までに投稿し、それが採択されなければなりません。
– 優秀論文の執筆者又は執筆グループの代表者１名は、登録費と滞在費（相部屋）が全額免除され、賞状、記念品と、副賞（$300）が贈られます。（登録費と滞在費が納入済みの場合は、会議場にて返金します）
– 論文は会議の後に出版される優秀論文集「私の提案：アジアの未来へ－私の提案Vol.6」に収録されます。
– 優秀論文賞受賞者は、第６回アジア未来会議の分科会で発表し、クロージングパーティーの中で行われる授賞式に出席しなければなりません。参加できない場合は失格となります。
– 既にジャーナル等に発表された論文は選考対象にはなりません。既発表である場合はその旨発表要旨と論文に明記してください。
– 今までにAFC優秀論文賞を受賞した方は対象外となります。

> 選考の方針
期日通りに投稿・採択された論文は、次の5つの指針に沿って審査されます。また、投稿規定に反するものはマイナス点になります。
1 論文のテーマが会議のテーマ「アジアを創る、未来へ繋ぐ―みんなの問題、みんなで解決」と適合しているか。
2 わかりやすく説得力があるか。
3 独自性と革新性があるか。
4 国際性があるか。
5 学際性があるか

B: 優秀発表賞

– アジア未来会議の分科会の各セッションで、座長から推薦を受けた１名に授与されます。
– 優秀発表賞の審査が行われるのは一般セッションのみで、グループセッションは該当しません。
– 優秀発表賞の受賞者には、賞状と記念品を贈呈します。

C: AFC奨学金

– 応募者の中から選ばれた50名の「将来有望な」研究者に対して、登録費と滞在費（相部屋）を全額免除するAFC奨学金を提供します。
– 希望者は、2021年8月31日までに発表要旨（abstract）をオンライン投稿してください。発表要旨の合格通知の中に、奨学金の申し込み案内が含まれています。奨学金の希望者は、その案内に従って申し込みをしてください。AFC奨学金の選考結果は、2022年1月20日までに応募者全員に通知されます。
– AFC奨学金に合格しても2022年3月31日までに論文のオンライン投稿がない場合は、アジア未来会議における発表を辞退したと見なされます。
– 小論文はAFC奨学金の選考対象にはなりません。
– 既にジャーナル等に発表された論文は選考対象にはなりません。既発表である場合はその旨発表要旨と論文に明記してください。

D: AFC特別補助金（対象国：インドネシア、フィリピン、ベトナム、タイ、ミャンマー）

– 指定寄附によるAFC特別補助金は、上記５カ国に居住し、その国の大学や研究機関に所属する研究者が対象となります。インドネシア、フィリピン、ベトナムは各10名、タイとミャンマーは各5名に授与されます。
– AFC特別補助金合格者は、登録費と滞在費（相部屋）を全額補助します。また、現金$300の補助を会議場で支給します。
– AFC特別補助金の申請受付と選考はAFC奨学金とは別に各国で行われます。
– 今までにAFC特別補助金を受給した方は対象外となります。また、AFC特別補助金の受給者は、AFC奨学金を受けられません。

為邀請更多研究者與會，亞洲未來會議提供優秀論文獎 、獎學金、特別補助金。甄選辦法如下：

A: 優秀論文獎

– 2022年3月31日前投稿之論文，將由AFC學術委員會選出20篇優秀論文。甄選條件為：2021年8月31日前將論文摘要上傳至大會網站，且通過審核入選者。
– 優秀論文作者本人或團隊代表人一名 ，將獲得報名費與住宿費（共用雙人房）全額免除。大會將致贈獲獎者獎狀、紀念品與獎金($300) 。（若已繳納報名費與住宿費，屆時將於會場退費。）
– 獲獎論文將收錄於優秀論文集《我的提案：給亞洲的未來—我的提案Vol.6》，於會議後出版。
– 優秀論文獎獲獎者，必須於第6屆亞洲未來會議分科會發表論文，且須出席閉幕式授獎儀式。若因故無法出席，將失去獲獎資格 。
– 已發表之論文不為優秀論文獎甄選對象。若為已發表之論文，請註明於發表摘要中。
– 曾獲AFC優秀論文獎者之論文不為甄選對象。

> 甄選辦法
於期限內投稿論文全文且通過審核入選者，其論文將依照以下五個方針進行審查。若違反投稿規定，甄選時將扣分。
1論文主題是否符合會議主題「創造亞洲，迎向未來——大家的問題，大家解決」？
2 是否淺顯易懂且具有說服力？
3 是否具有獨創性與創新度？
4 是否具有國際視角？
5 是否為跨領域？

B: 優秀發表獎

– 亞洲未來會議分科會將由各場次評論人舉薦1名優秀發表者領獎。
– 優秀發表獎審查僅限於一般場次，團體發表場次無此獎審查機制。
– 大會將致贈優秀發表獎獲獎者獎狀與紀念品。

C: AFC獎學金

– 委員會將由報名者中選出50名「具發展性」的研究者，提供AFC獎學金，全額免除其報名費與住宿費（共用雙人房）。
– 欲參與甄選者，請於2021年8月31日前將發表摘要（abstract）投稿上傳至大會網站。獎學金申請手續將檢附於通知發表摘要審查合格之電子郵件。欲申請獎學金者，請依照手續申請。2022年1月20日前通知所有報名者AFC獎學金的甄選結果。
– 若獲得AFC獎學金，卻未於2022年3月31日前將論文上傳至大會網站，視同放棄在亞洲未來會議的發表機會。
– 小論文並非AFC獎學金的甄選對象。

D: AFC特別補助金（對象國：印尼、菲律賓、越南、泰國、緬甸）

– 由指定捐款提供之AFC特別補助金補助對象為具有上列五國國籍且居住於該國之研究者。共提供印尼，菲律賓與越南各10名，泰國與緬甸各5名。AFC特別補助金之合格者將獲得報名費與住宿費（共用雙人房）之全額補助。另外，大會將於會場支付現金$300之補助。
– AFC特別補助金之申請手續與甄選將於上述之個別國家進行。
– 曾領過AFC特別補助金者不為甄選對象。另外，領有AFC特別補助金者將不得申請AFC獎學金。
