Also called chikaragane 力鉄 or kanehouzue 鉄方杖. Slender iron rods used to strengthen the extensions of the horizontal top rails *hokogi 架木, and middle rails *hirageta 平桁, of a hanekouran 刎高欄 style railing. They are attached to the underside of the top rail at the corner, pass through the middle rail, and are inserted into the bottom rail *jifuku 地覆 .
