yoko-ita　横板

1　Horizontal, parallel boards with a wood grain that runs sideways. In shrine architecture *jinja kenchiku 神社建築, this type of board is often used for a wall, which is called yoko-itakabe 横板壁. 2　The horizontal board *kagami-ita 鏡板, positioned behind the musicians and the board of wood are laid horizontally in front of the kagami-ita.
