Also kobanekugi 小羽根釘. Small round bamboo roofing nails, with a diameter between 2.1-2.8mm and length 50-100mm, used to attach timber sheathing to the roof framework. The sheathing provides a base to spread clay for setting tile roofing *kawarabuki 瓦葺, or attaching shingles *kokerabuki 柿葺 or *hiwadabuki 桧皮葺.
