yaegaki　八重垣

Lit. eightfold fence. A type of double-screen sleeve fence *sodegaki 袖垣 in which several fence styles are combined. Yaegaki range from simple combinations to hybrids composed of three or more styles. Frequently a round window is incorporated to create a yae ensougaki 八重円窓垣.
