uragaeshi-nuri　裏返塗

Also called uragaeshi 裏返 or yobinuri 呼塗. Soft, rough plaster arakabetsuchi 荒壁土 applied to the reverse side of a lath framework *komai 小舞, in a mud wall *tsuchikabe 土壁. Applied after the plastered front of the bamboo laths has dried completely. A wall of this type, with a lath base and plaster applied to front and rear as described above, is known as *urakabe 裏壁.
