teppougaki　鉄砲垣

Lit. musket fence. A type of *sodegaki 袖垣 or *oogaki 大垣 in which long and short tubes of thick madake 真竹 bamboo resembling musket barrels are fixed along smaller horizontal bars. Usually odd-numbered groups are set alternately in front of and in back of the horizontal frame.
