A ripsaw. A saw used to cut timber in the same direction as the wood grain. There are various types of ripsaw including: the standard purpose ripsaw, *maebikinoko 前挽鋸; heavy-duty ripsaw, the gagari ががり; and the *maebikioga 前挽大鋸, wide-blade ripsaw.
