| Also *iwarokushou βΞΒ. A green pigment *ganryou ηΏ, made of powdered malachite, a form of basic copper carbonate. The most important green colour in oriental painting, used in Japan as early as the Asuka period. A light green pigment *byakuroku Ξ, and various intermediate shades were made by grinding down rokushou to reduce the size of the particles. A blue-green pigment whose colour is halfway between dark blue *gunjou QΒ, and rokushou is known as gunroku QΞ. Paints made from mineral pigments like rokushou are known as *iwa-enogu βGο. | ||||||
