| A wall space allotted for hanging a scroll rather than a true alcove. It is characterized by a smoothly planed board, 15-20 cm wide, attached to the wall just beneath the wooden molding *tenjou mawaribuchi Vδτ, that rims the ceiling. The board is placed horizontally between two wall posts. A bamboo peg inserted into the center of the board functions as a hook on which the scroll can be hung. | ||||||
