| Also pronounced otoshi-ishi. Lit. falling stone. One of the trump stones *yaku-ishi πΞ in front of the crawl door *nijiriguchi ηWϋ entrance to the tea hut *chashitsu Ί. It is also called the second stone *niban-ishi ρΤΞ because it follows the *fumi-ishi ₯Ξ, placed first outside the chashitsu, and in front of the *nori-ishi ζΞ. According to the SEKISHUURYUUDENSHO ΞB¬`, the ochi-ishi is placed between the fumi-ishi and the nori-ishi, but is usually about 3cm lower than the fumi-ishi and about 3cm higher than the nori-ishi. | ||||||
