munesumigawara　棟隅瓦

Lit. tiles at the corners of the ridge. A generic term for the ogre tile *onigawara 鬼瓦, bird-perch tile *toribusuma 鳥衾, raptorial tail *shibi 鵄尾, and the fantastic fish *shachi 鯱 tiles. These elements compose a characteristic part of ridge decoration including the main ridge *oomune 大棟; corner descending ridges *sumikudarimune 隅降棟 and offspring ridges *chigomune 稚児棟.
