| Also 
      written 垣つけ. A method of fence construction where vertical members *tateko 
      竪子, are fixed along horizontal members,  one by one with rope.  See *doubuchi 胴縁 or *oshibuchi 押縁. The same method is used when preparing a lath 
      lattice as a groundwork for plastering. The best example of a kakitsuke 
      fence can be seen at Kenninji 建仁寺 (1202) in  Kyoto. | ||||||
