Lit. mixed complex system. A system of combining various architectural members into a unified structure. For example: the arrangement that combines the use of bracket complexes *tokyou 斗きょう; with supporting hip rafters *sumigi 隅木; and the arrangement of double rainbow beams with frog leg struts *nijuukouryou kaerumata 二重虹梁蟇股.
