kayoiguchi 通い口

Also *kyuujiguchi 給仕口. The host's entrance to a ceremony room *chashitsu 茶室, from the preparation area *mizuya 水屋. Often two sliding doors completely covered with white paper, *taikobari fusuma 太鼓張襖, are fitted on the mizuya side of the opening, in an arrangement known as *houdateguchi 方立口. The opening is usually about 1.4m wide and about 1.5m high. Example: Teigyokuken 庭玉軒, Daitokuji Shinju'an 大徳寺真珠庵, Kyoto.
