katouguchi 火灯口

Also written 花頭口, 火頭口, 華頭口. Also called *sadouguchi 茶道口 or *kyuujiguchi 給仕口. A particular type of host's entrance, usually found between the kitchen and host's mat in a tea ceremony room *chashitsu 茶室. The katouguchi does not have a door-jamb *houdate 方立, or track *kamoi 鴨居, sliding door. The top is plastered and forms an arch shape. The headed is pasted with *housho 奉書 paper. Example: Seikouken 清香軒, Ishikawa prefecture.
