| A pattern composed of concentric circles on a pendant *gatou ’ and parallel lines on a semi-circular, convex eave-end tile *nokimarugawara ¬Ϋ’. Juukenmon have a raised dot or seed shape *shumon μΆ at the center point surrounded by three or five widely spread concentric circles sanjuukenmon OdΆ or gojuukenmon άdΆ. All have an undecorated comparatively high wide rim. Example: juukenmon on the pendant of the semi-circular tile found at Heijoukyuu ½ι{ excavated from Awa Kokubunji ’gͺ, Tokushima prefecture. Some juukenmon tiles have a centered lotus pattern surrounded by concentric circles. An example is one from the Heijou site in Nara. | ||||||
