hourai enzanseki　 蓬莱遠山石

Lit. Penglai distant mountain stone. A technique in which the stone representing Mt. Penglai *Houraisan 蓬莱山 also serves as the distant mountain enzan 遠山, in a garden composition. Generally used in an artificial hill *tsukiyama 築山, in a few cases the Hourai enzanseki is found on the far side of pond gardens.
