A type of strut found in *shinmei-zukuri 神明造. Several struts are set on the main ridge *munagi 棟木, to support a ridge-like, peaked member on top of which two *katsuogi 堅魚木, are placed. Wooden pegs *hinuki 飛貫, which pass through the ridge-protecting boards *aori-ita 障泥板, are inserted into these struts making the entire arrangement strong.
