| A penetrating tie-beam that connects and strengthens the veranda struts *enzuka 縁束. In high verandas where the framing members are large and the veranda is several steps above ground, wedges *kusabi 楔 are inserted into the pillars under the tie beam to secure it firmly. Example: Kasuga style shrines *kasuga-zukuri 春日造. | ||||||
