| Also called *gatou ’. The circular pendant tiles attached to semi-circular convex eave-end tiles *nokimarugawara ¬Ϋ’. In ancient China but very rarely in Japan, there were also semi-circular gatou. The term engatou is only used for the circular pendant but gatou can be used for either the pendant on a circular tile or on the broad concave tile called *nokihiragawara ¬½’. | ||||||
