butaigamachi　舞台框

Lit. stage framework. A framing member that runs the entire width of the upper part of a *kabuki 歌舞伎 stage. Its surface is flush with the surface of the stage. The side surfaces face the special guests in boxes with floors covered by straw mats *tatami 畳.
