Also ashigaki ˆ―Š_. Also called yoshizubei δΡβΕ•» or yoshizugaki δΡβŊ_. A fence made of ditch reed yoshizu δΡβΕ, matting that covers a framework made of cedar log posts and five rows of horizontal bamboo furring strips, 12cm in diameter, attached to the posts. Bamboo battens are tied to the matting and around the furring strips to hold the matting tightly in place. Occasionally, matting is placed on both sides of the posts and a matting of wild oats is set in between.
