Lit. roles of branches.
The branches of a flower or tree that are given a name based on their "role" in the structure of an entire flower arrangement or the whole garden design. For instance the main branch is designated as shin 真, subsidiary branches are called soe 添, and upper or lower branches may be called tai 体.
