unbokugata tourou  雲卜形灯籠
KEY WORD : architecture / lantern
 
A type of lantern. These six-sided lanterns are the same as the kasuga type, but they were carved by a stonemason by the name of Unboku. The most important example remains at Kasuga Taisha 春日大社 in Nara.
