Paintings of horses on pairs of folding screen *byoubu 屏風. Beginning in the Heian period, such screens were traditionally placed behind the imperial throne during ceremonies involving horses, such as the annual inspection of imperial horses; uma-no-tenran 馬の天覧 and komahiki 駒牽.
