Also called tatedouzan ’G“·ŽV. Vertical lath used for a door or window frame. Lath called san ŽV can be set vertically, horizontally or crisscrossed between the stiles tategamachi ’Gžy of a door or window frame. Vertical lath is called tatezan and horizontal lath called *yokozan ‰‘ŽV. Some frames have only horizontal lath, others have only vertical lath while others have lath set at right angles. There is infinite variety of lath arrangement

Also called nakatatekamachi ’†’Gžy, tateko ’GŽq or cŽq. The middle, vertical muntins set parallel to the vertical border stiles tategamachi in doors, windows, transoms etc.
