Also written “V‹ο’Ÿ, “V‹{γ, “V‹vν. Fine Japanese paper made from high quality fibres (see *choshi žΈŽ†). Strong, pliable, with a beautiful white color. Used to wrap valuables, and as paper placed between printed art objects to protect them, hedategami ŠuŽ†. Made in the Mino ”ό”Z region (now Gifu prefecture) since the Kamakura period and also produced in Tosa “y² (now Kouchi prefecture) since the Meiji period.
