sashimoyageta 指母屋桁

A short purlin *keta 桁, that extends from the second strut within a hidden roof *noyane 野屋根, through the barge course. The outer ends are inserted into the rear side of the bargeboards. These short purlins are set below the exposed ridge *keshou munagi 化粧棟木, and extend out beyond the gable wall just above the upper edge of the hips of the hip-and-gable roof. Example: Daigoji Yakushidou 醍醐寺薬師堂 (rebuilt 1121), Kyoto.
