Also written 滑り腮. Also *shikimen 敷面. This term refers to both the upper and lower sides of a structural timber. The lower end, bottom side, or under surface of timber, stone or other structural element is called shitaba 下端. Conversely *uwaba 上端 means the upper end or side.
